LOCAL & GENERAL

DIRNASEER GIFT EVENING TO MISS LOITERTON .

Some months ago Dirnaseer residents had all arrangements complete for a kitchen tea and gift evening for Miss Melva Loiterton. Three days before the function, Miss Loiterton fell from a bicycle, and was admitted to hospital with a fractured ankle. The kitchen tea and the wedding to Mr George Wilson, of Dirnaseer had to be postponed. It took place in the Dirnaseer Hall, and the wedding will be in Temora Methodist Church on Saturday, October 18 at 2.

Over 100 friends gathered for the function, which was a jolly and bright affair, with a delightful musical programme by Mrs. J. Copp (Cootamundra), Miss Betty Collie (Cootamundra), Mr. Arthur Delbridge (Cootamundra), and Mr. Egan Moulton.

Mr. Cecil Harper played for the dancing, while a competition and novelty dances added to the fun.

Mr. R. Holmes and Mrs. H. Main knew the most about parts of motor cars, a spot dance was won by Mr. Delbridge and Mrs. Copp, while a Monte Carlo found winners in Miss Sulley and partner.

Miss Loiterton was presented with a lovely dress spray by Margaret Green.

In addition to Dirnaseer and Cootamundra residents, there were also visitors from Junee and Temora, while the Wilson family came from Wagga for the evening.

The good wishes offered by Mr. Hugh Main when handing over the lovely array of gifts were supported by Mr. C. McRae, Mr. Egan Moulton, and Mr. and Mrs. G. Muir Laing.

Miss Loiterton suitably and sincere ly acknowledged the good wishes and gifts.

The ladies served a delicious supper to complete a very happy evening, for which Mrs. Moulton and Miss J. Mc Rae were the organisers.3
