ArticleJames Michael Seery was arrested as an accomplice in the killing of Sgt Andrew Sutherland. Sutherland was thought to have been killed by George Gray and his nephew William Bristow.

James was released and not brought to trial. William Bristow was found not guilty and George Gray disappeared from the Pejar district and was never found by the police, nor seen again by his family.2
